Speaker:

Welcome to the Mindful Fire Podcast, a show about crafting a life you love and making work optional using the tools of mindfulness, envisioning, and financial independence. I'm your host, Adam Quail, and I'm so glad you're. Each episode of the Mindful Fire Podcast explores these three tools through teachings, guided meditations, and inspiring interviews with people actually living them to craft a life they love. At its core, mindful Fire is about creating more awareness and choice in your life. Mindfulness helps you develop self-awareness to know yourself better and what's most important to you by practicing a kind, curious awareness. Envisioning is all about choosing to think big about your life and putting the power of your predicting brain to work to create the life you dream of. And financial independence brings awareness and choice to your financial life, empowering you to make your vision a reality by getting your money sorted out and ultimately making work optional. And here's the best part, you don't have to wait until you reach financial independence to live out your vision. Mindful fires about using these tools to craft that life. Now on the path to financial independence and beyond. If you're ready to start your Mindful Fire journey, go to mindful fire.org/start and download my free envisioning guide in just 10 minutes. Adam Coelho:

this meditation was recorded at the Mindful Fire Legends community. So if you'd like to join the Mindful Fire Legends community, you can do so at mindful fire.org/legends. But for now, just begin by finding a position that allows you to be alert and relaxed. Sitting with a tall, straight back, but not rigid. Resting your hands, wherever's comfortable, and you can drop in with three deep breaths in and out. And on your third exhale, just find your way to wherever you feel the breath sensations most vividly in your body right now, finding that point. It might be at the belly or the chest. Expanding and contracting as you breathe in and out. Might be at the nose or the mouth where the air is coming in and going out. Or you might feel a sense of the whole body sitting and breathing. Just rest your attention there. And observe as you breathe in, serve as you breathe out. And as you sit and breathe, imagine yourself dropping in below all the noise. The noise of the world and the chaos all around. Even the noise of the busyness of your mind. Obviously it'll all still be there, but with each exhale, can you feel yourself kinda sinking below it, perhaps imagining that. If all of that noise is a choppy sea on the top of the ocean, you're just dropping about 10 feet below and things are more calm, quieter, more still. Just feeling the gentle sensations of the breath coming in and the breath going out. Breathing in, I'm aware that I'm breathing in, breathing out. I'm aware that I'm breathing out. Each time you notice that your mind is drifted off into distraction or thought. No problem. Just observe it with a kind, curious awareness of mindfulness. Simply noticing what's on your mind in awareness, and then choose to gently come back to the breath and begin again. Each in breath is a new beginning. Each out breath is a chance to let go and to drop further below the noise and the choppiness, and to just simply rest in this peaceful, calm presence of this in breath, in this out breath. And again, if like me, your mind has drifted off, just simply come back and start again. There's something very simple about just focusing on this in breath and then this out breath. Not worried about what's coming next or what came before. No matter how many times your mind wanders and always just come back to this sin, breath and this out breath, each one new, unique, each one. Your life happening right here, right now. Breathing in, I'm aware that I'm breathing in, breathing out. I'm aware that I'm breathing out. And as we ar arrive at the end of this short practice, I invite you to bring to mind gratitude. Gratitude for yourself, for showing up and doing this practice. Creating just a little space for peace and ease and to drop below the busyness of our lives and the world around us, and just, just sit with that for a moment and appreciation and gratefulness for taking this time for yourself. Now let us finish with three deep breaths together, breathing in, and now again in. Letting it go once more. When you're ready, opening your eyes, moving your body in any way that feels good. Thanking for your attention.
