In this episode: guided meditation, visualizing an ideal day, setting an intention with Adam Coelho
Episode Summary
A short guided meditation recorded with the Mindful FIRE Legends community. You’ll start by settling into the body and breath, noticing how you’re arriving, and practicing returning kindly when the mind wanders. Then you’ll shift into a visualization: imagine an ideal day where you’re financially independent and free to choose how you spend your time. You’ll explore what you’re doing, who you’re with, and how you want to feel—then close by choosing one small intention to live into today.

Key Takeaways
- Use three deep breaths to arrive, then “begin again” each time distraction appears.
- “Financial independence” can be used as a visualization container to explore values, not just numbers.
- Make the ideal day vivid by tracking sensations: where you are, who you’re with, and how you feel.
- End with one concrete intention: a single action you can try today that aligns with the vision.

Let's jump into today's episode let's begin this guided meditation, which as always is recorded at the Mindful Fire Legends community. If you'd like to join us to practice live and join a community of people supporting and encouraging each other on the path to fire, we'd love to have you join us at MindfulFire.org/join. I invite you to begin by finding a position that allows you to be alert and relaxed at the same time, and sit with a tall, straight back, resting your hands wherever's comfortable. And you can close your eyes or gaze down with a soft, unfocused gaze. And just drop into this moment with three deep breaths in and out. And on your third exhale, I invite you to check in with yourself, just observing how you're arriving here in this moment. Noticing if you're carrying anything from earlier in with you, just choosing to set it down. Right now there's nowhere you need to be, nothing you need to do. Just this in breath, and just this out breath. Noticing what it feels like in your body in this moment. Noticing what it feels like in your mind. Is it busy or calm? Tense or relaxed? Not judging, but just simply observing. Right now in my mind, it's like this. And now just letting go of that and finding your way to the breath. Feeling the breath as it comes in. Feeling the breath as it goes out. Taking a break from everything that has come before and anything that is yet to come. Just resting in the simplicity of this moment, in this breath, right here, right now. And each time your mind wanders off into distraction, just notice that thinking is happening. Noticing with a kind, curious awareness of mindfulness, "Oh, I'm thinking," and then choosing to come back to the breath and beginning again. Each in breath is a new beginning. Each out breath is a chance to let go And as you sit and breathe, as you breathe in, coming into this moment even more. And as you breathe out, relaxing into this moment even more. Just imagine yourself arriving and relaxing. Breathing in, arriving. Breathing out, settling and relaxing And now I invite you to shift gears into a simple visualization exercise. I want you to play with, in your mind, visualizing your ideal day. In this vision, you're financially independent. You don't have to worry about earning money, although you can if you choose. And just walk through your day, imagining yourself waking up and just walking through your day in your own time, in your own way, and feeling in your body the feelings that you would hope to feel in this ideal day. And so just playing with that from the moment you wake up, seeing how your perfect day unfolds. Knowing that none of this is set in stone, it's just fun to play with Feeling what that feels like in your body to whatever degree that's available. Just progressing through your day into lunch, into the afternoon. Who are you with? Where are you? How do you feel? And seeing your evening unfold. Noticing how you celebrate a day well-lived. Is there any reflection or appreciation practice? Seeing yourself preparing for a great night's sleep. And letting go of that and coming back to the breath. Once again, breathing in, breathing out. Checking in again with your body and your mind. Just observing whatever's there. Bringing to mind an intention for how you could live into that today. What's one thing from that vision that you could try today? And letting go of that, let us finish with three deep breaths together. Breathing in, breathing out. And in, and out. Once more, in, and out. When you're ready, opening your eyes, coming back. Thank you for your attention. If you'd like to join us live, you can do that at mindfullfire.org/join.
